Rillsoft Project 9 introduces a dedicated Project Customers tab in the resource pool and additionally exposes project customers in the portfolio properties. Projects can be sorted or grouped by client – without repeating customer data in every project.

Why maintain project customers in the system?

When client data is part of the project management, the team always sees who it is planning for. Requirements, resource demand and deadlines become visible per customer – an important step towards consistent multi-project reporting.

The function also actively supports communication between project team and customer: status reports, progress updates and reactions to plan changes can be tailored per client.

Frequently asked questions(FAQ)

In the resource pool of Rillsoft Project 9 clients can be maintained as a separate “Project Customers” category – with master data such as customer name, business unit and additional attributes. Projects reference these customers instead of repeating client data in every project.

In addition to the resource pool, project customers are exposed in the portfolio properties. Projects can be sorted or grouped there by client – for example by customer name or business unit.

The project team always knows which customer is behind which project. Requirements, resource demand and reporting can be aggregated per customer – status reports and utilization analyses become consistent.

Because customer information is linked to the project, progress, deadlines and resource questions can be presented per client. Customer-specific status reports can be derived from the portfolio properties.

Each project is assigned to one client. Through business unit, sector or additional fields in the customer master data, projects can be grouped further – for example when several subsidiaries of the same group act as separate clients.
